Christmas tea.

On December 21, 2012 I did my first big tea tea party for a group home my grandmother lives in. It was a thank you to all the wonderful people who help out over there taking care of patients with Alzheimer, as well as a Christmas present to my grandmother.

I had so much fun doing this tea for these ladies! I heard stories from one woman who was from San Francisco but joined the WAVES in the 1940s and was stationed in Denver, CO. It was a real treat to hear about everyone's history seeing as I am a vintage enthusiast. At one point my grandmother told everyone how she had been a hat model for D.H. Holmes in the 1940s. She even got up and modeled the hats I had brought for everyone to wear. My grandmother had a rule for her teas, ladies must wear hats. And they did!

Here are some pictures a friend of mine took of the tea. I would like to thank my friend and my mom for helping me out and making this tea such a fun success!

Why hello there!

I'm Judith, and this is my blog about my love of tea. It's a bit more than that really. So I guess you could say it is about my love of all things tea and my journey to starting my own tea shop in New Orleans.

Why tea? I am just a big fan. I have been since I was a kid. I was the little girl on the block who would go door to door inviting the neighbors to tea parties for Sunday afternoons. My intention is to bring that back. That love of getting people together over a cup of tea, some finger sandwiches and a nice slice of fluffy cake.

I am starting this blog to keep people posted on the progress of my business. So I do apologize if things on here change or I do not update it as regularly as I would like. I am going to try to post at least once a week. Even if it's just tea cups I find while flea market shopping, photos of cakes I bake while working on recipes or pictures that inspire me.

That said. I hope everyone is enjoying their New Year. Here's to 2013 bringing good things!
